When it comes to noise cancellation, BOSE and SENNHEISER are two prominent names. The two companies have been in competition for a while now, and both of them offer some of the best noise-canceling headphones in the market.
The Sennheiser Momentum 4 is the upcoming offering from the company and its comings with a few upgrades over its predecessor, the Momentum 3. The most notable upgrade is the battery life, which is now up to 60 hours.
The Bose NC 700, on the other hand, is a bit of a different beast. It’s not as new as the Momentum 4, but it captures a huge market due to its ANC, Elegant design, and features.
However, the Sennheiser Momentum 4 will be launching the next month, so I wanted to compare them to see which one is better. So that you can make an informed decision whether or not to upgrade your headset to the new Sennheiser Momentum 4.
Let’s dig into the Sennheiser Momentum 4 vs Bose NC 700 comparison in depth.

Design: Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless vs Bose NC Headphones 700
The Bose NC 700 has a sleek and elegant design. The headphones are available in three colors, Black, Soapstone, and Silver. The headphones are more comfortable and lighter than the previous model, allowing for long hours of use during workouts.
However, with the stainless steel headband integration with earcups, headphones were flattened to fit within the charging case rather than folded as before.
Bose 700 features touch controls for playback, Multifunction physical buttons(to power ON/OFF, activate Bluetooth pairing, or activate the voice assistant ), and volume and track skipping on the right earbud. whereas, on the left earbud, there is a button to control the level of noise cancellation.
With the Sennheiser Momentum 4 wireless, a company has completely overhauled the headphone to a new lightweight design.
The headband is made up of stainless steel which pretty nicely fits on the head. The overall design and finishing of the headphone are up to the Sennheiser’s Momentum range.
The earcups, on the other hand, are Deep and well cushioned with synthetic leather and give decent passive noise isolation.
Moreover, Sennheiser did not reveal the layout of the controls. So we need to wait for that till the official launch of the product.
According to the given knowledge for me, it seems that Sennheiser Momentum 4 is a better product as compared to Bose NC 700.
Features: Bose NC Headphones 700 vs Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 4
When it comes to features Bose NC leads with 11 levels of Noise cancellation in the companion app. However, on the headphone, you can change the setting between Low, High, and Max via a physical button.
Additionally, the Bose 700 has default ANC settings of 0-5 (medium level of ANC) and 10-0 (strongest level of ANC) making it ideal for people who want to use their headphones in various environments.
The support of Bluetooth 5 and SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs is included with NC Headphones 700, whereas you can’t discover aptX on them.
On the other hand, Sennheiser introduced the advanced Adaptive Noise Cancellation in the Momentum Wireless 4 which is a combination of active noise cancellation and passive noise isolation.
The Sennheiser does not provide much information about the ANC of the Momentum 4, but I anticipate it will have three ANC modes similar to its predecessor (Momentum Wireless 3), including ‘Max,’” which includes full-blown ‘Max,’ and “Anti-Wind,’ as well as anti-pressure.
There is also no mention of the Bluetooth codec and version. There’s also nothing about positioning tracking technology, as seen in the Momentum 3 headphones.
So as far as features are concerned, the Bose NC Headphones 700 have a clear advantage over the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 4.
Sound: Bose NC Headphones 700 vs Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 4
The sound signature of Bose NC 700 is a bit like that of QC 35 II which is most satisfying and well-mannered.
For me, the midrange is a little harsh and missing the details. Bass is reserved but not as much as QC 35 II, treble is well-extended and airy.
The soundstage is pretty nice and wide which enables the Bose 700 to have a pretty good performance in terms of imaging.
Whereas Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 4 would have the best-in-class sound and according to them no one would stand against their Signature Sound. However, the 42mm drivers would let the sound towards the warmer side and may not be so much impressive for those who prefer a neutral sound.
On the sound, I am going to bet on Momentum Wireless 4.
Battery Life: Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless vs Bose NC Headphones 700
One of the most important concerns of travelers who like to use headphones for lengthy hours in the air is battery life. Sennheiser going to offer 60 hours of battery life with its new Momentum 4 whereas Bose claims 20 hours of battery life with noise cancellation on.
In real-world usage, it is possible to achieve 35 – 40 hours of playback from Sennheiser Momentum 4 which is more than enough for a week-long trip whereas the Bose NC 700 does not last even for a day if we use it heavily.
However, there is no detail yet on the charging type and how long would it take to charge from 0 to 100%. of Momentum 4. Whereas, Bose NC 700 takes 2.5 hours to get fully charged.
