Anker Soundcore Life Q35 proved a huge success for the company with its top-notch Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and 20 hours of impressive battery life.
However, in terms of performance, they provided tough competition to other world-leading headphone brands such as Bose, Sony, and Apple.
But in 2022, Anker came out with its new Soundcore Space Q45 headphones which offer exceptional battery life, ANC, and world-class sound quality, surpassing their previous models.
The question is- whether the new release is worth purchasing over the previous models.
In this article, I will compare the features of Soundcore Space Q45 vs Life Q35 to help you decide whether to go for the new release or not.
AVAILABILITY AND PRICE: ANKER SOUNDCORE SPACE Q45 VS LIFE Q35
Surprisingly, there is only a slight price difference between Anker’s Soundcore Space Q45 and Life Q35 headphones, with the former priced at $149 / £139 and the latter at $139.99 / £129.99.
However, the price of the Soundcore Space Q45 is justifiable when compared to similarly featured headphones like the Bose 700 ($399.99), Sony WH-1000XM4 ($349.99), and Sennheiser Momentum 3 ($349.99).
Considering the similar features and comparatively lower price, it is recommended to opt for the Soundcore Space Q45.
DESIGN: ANKER SOUNDCORE SPACE Q45 VS LIFE Q35
In terms of design, the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 appears almost identical to the Life Q35. However, Anker has made some refinements to achieve a more sophisticated look and comfortable fit.
The earpads of the Space Q45 are cushioned with memory foam and lined with faux leather, while a subtle sheen ring around the earbuds adds a luxurious touch.
Weighing 10.4 ounces, the Space Q45 is comparable to other high-end headphones like Sony WH-1000XM4 (8.9 ounces) and Bose 700 (9 ounces).
In contrast, the plastic construction of the Life Q35 makes it lighter at 7.9 ounces, but less refined in appearance and feel.
The memory foam on the earpads is not as thick as that on the Space Q45 or other premium headphones, and the earpads can produce a strong clamping force that may cause discomfort after prolonged use.
One feature that stands out for the Life Q35 is the auto-play/pause function that Pauses music playback when the headphones are not worn.
Overall, The Anker Soundcore Space Q45 has a more refined design than the Life Q35 and is also more comfortable to wear for long periods.
FEATURES: ANKER SOUNDCORE SPACE Q45 VS LIFE Q35
Regarding their feature set, both the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 and Life Q35 headphones are fully equipped with advanced features typical of high-end headphones.
Therefore, let’s explore and compare the features of both headphones to see how they stack up against each other.
1. NOISE CANCELLATION
Anker’s Soundcore Space Q45 headphones utilize the same three-stage adaptable Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology as their A40 earbuds.
This advanced feature is capable of blocking low, mid, and high-frequency noise to provide an exceptional listening experience, comparable to the top-tier ANC performance of Bose and Sony over-ear headphones.
The Space Q45 headphones also have a transparency mode with five levels of settings, including an ambient-aware mode.
On the other hand, Anker’s Soundcore Life Q35 headphones have improved ANC compared to their predecessor, the Life Q30. The Life Q35 offers three modes of ANC named indoor, outdoor, and transport, which perform well in each mode.
However, the transparency mode of the Life Q35 was out of the question when I compared it with Space Q45’s transparency mode.
Overall, while Anker has made impressive improvements in the ANC of both headphones, the Space Q45 headphones offer slightly better noise cancellation than the Life Q35.
2. CONNECTIVITY
Connectivity-wise, both the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 and Life Q35 headphones are similar, with support for AAC, SBC, and LDAC codecs and the ability to connect to two devices simultaneously using multipoint technology.
The main difference is that Space Q45 supports Bluetooth 5.3, which provides a lower latency connection for better sound quality, while Life Q35 has Bluetooth 5.0.
Additionally, both headphones have a range of up to 50 meters for Bluetooth connections, making their connectivity outstanding.
3. VOICE ASSISTANT
As it’s 2022, most headphones now come with voice assistant support for added convenience. While both the Soundcore Space Q45 and Life Q35 offer support for Google Assistant and Siri, the former provides more control.
With Space Q45, you can activate the Google Assistant simply by pressing the multifunction button, while with Life Q35, activating Siri requires holding down the button for a couple of seconds. However, Siri is more reliable on the Life Q35 than Google Assistant.
SOUND QUALITY: ANKER SOUNDCORE SPACE Q45 VS LIFE Q35
Overall, the sound quality of both headphones is excellent, but there are some differences. The Anker Soundcore Space Q45 has 40mm double-layer metal ceramic diaphragm drivers that provide hi-res sound and excellent spatial quality.
The bass is well-balanced, and there is a deeper warmth on the low frequency. On the other hand, the Anker Soundcore Life Q35 has 40mm silk diaphragm drivers, which offer a slightly more pushed bass.
To conclude, both headphones offer outstanding sound quality, but if I have to pick one, I would go with Space Q45 because of its superior drivers and hi-res sound quality.
BATTERY LIFE: ANKER SOUNDCORE SPACE Q45 VS LIFE Q35
In terms of battery life, the Anker Soundcore Space Q45 headphones surpass the Life Q35. With up to 50 hours of playtime with ANC and 65 hours without ANC on a single charge, the Space Q45 headphones are ideal for long flights or road trips.
On the other hand, the Life Q35 headphones only provide up to 40 hours of battery life with ANC and 60 hours without ANC.
Additionally, both headphones support quick charging and provide 4 hours of playback time from just 5 minutes of charging.
However, the Space Q45 has the added convenience of wireless charging, which is not available on the Life Q35.

It also has better connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3, wireless charging, and longer battery life with up to 50 hours of playtime with ANC and 65 hours without ANC.
